The fishing port of Garrucha with its colourful harbour and enticing fish restaurants is just 8 km along the coast. A little further on you will discover enchanting Mojacar, an ancient Moorish hilltop village less than 3 km from the sea. The fascinating old village is a maze of narrow streets and has a unique atmosphere with plenty of little bars and craft shops.
There are lots of other places to visit like the cave dwellings of Cuevas de Almanjors. The capital Almeria. The old desert film sets of mini Hollywood, beautiful scenery and beaches of the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata. Almeria has bustling markets, tapas bars and castle.
